Golf · Full-tournament Classic
How golf lineups are built
A golf week is a full tournament, not one round. Six golfers, no Captain, under the $50,000 salary cap. Up to 150 ranked lineups per slate, ranked best first. Subscribers get them filled into the entries file they upload. The sources are DraftKings salaries, the course and the field, tee times, weather, public scoring stats, and several paid and public projection sources. This page does not name those sources.
By the numbers
Up to 150 ranked lineups per slate. Full-tournament Classic only. Golf entry totals are not in the published record, so this page does not state a count.
What each station checks
-
1.Data intake
- DraftKings salaries, the course, and the field for the full tournament.
- Tee times, weather, and public scoring stats, so a salary is read against the course and the week.
- Withdrawals are checked through the week and again before lock.
- Projections come from several paid and public sources. This page does not name those sources.
-
2.Tournament read
- The read is written down before any lineup is built.
- It covers the full tournament: four rounds, the course, and whether a cut can end a golfer’s week.
- This build is Classic only. A single-round contest is a different roster and is not what this page describes.
-
3.Simulation
- That read is run through thousands of simulated tournament outcomes.
- The lineup pool is thousands of six-golfer combinations. That count is the build shape.
- Nothing in this station is a leaderboard.
-
4.Course-fit groups
- Golfers are grouped from the course and the tournament read, not from a list of names.
- A group has to show up often enough that it actually appears in the set.
- A group that fights the course does not move forward.
-
5.Round path
- A golfer needs a real path to score across the rounds that the contest pays.
- In a standard event, a missed cut ends the week. In a no-cut event, every golfer plays all four rounds.
- A cheap salary does not waive that check.
-
6.Exposure caps
- A cap limits how often the most popular golfers can appear.
- A second cap limits the cheapest plays that do not fit the course.
- The set looks for a difference from the field instead of copying it.
-
7.Lineup assembly and rule check
- Salary, six roster spots, and duplicate lineups are checked before a lineup can ship. Each set stays under the $50,000 cap. There is no Captain.
- The check is zero-fail. A lineup that breaks a rule does not go out.
- Up to 150 ranked lineups per slate, ranked best first, for the full tournament.
-
8.Contest fit and the filled entries file
- The set is fit to the full-tournament Classic contests we actually enter.
- Subscribers upload the entries file for contests they already joined.
- We fill that file, best first. This page does not publish a lineup.
-
9.Post-tournament review
Feeds the next tournament.
- A post-mortem compares the projection with what happened.
- Every contest we enter is graded against DraftKings results.
- A rule that failed is locked into the next build. That review is the return path to data intake.
Single-round golf contests use a different roster. They are not the set described here.
