DraftKings NFL Showdown
What is a DraftKings NFL Showdown contest?
A Showdown is a single-game contest where you build a six-player lineup under a $50,000 salary cap: one Captain and five Flex players. The Captain scores 1.5 times the points and costs 1.5 times the salary, which makes that one choice the most important in the lineup.
How do I pick a Captain in a Showdown?
Start with the game script you expect, not the biggest name. Choose the player who scores the most if that script plays out, then build the rest of the lineup around the same script. Our public research walks through how Showdown Captains and game scripts played out after each slate. The Captain and Flex picks for each slate are for subscribers.
Should I fade the most popular lineup in Showdown cash games?
In cash games, usually not. In the Week 3 Sunday night double-ups we entered (12 contests, 3,631 entries), the most-played lineup was also the top projected build, and in 10 of those 12 contests the cash line landed on its score. That is one slate week, a small sample, so treat it as a starting point and not a rule. The full study is free on the research page.
What is a double-up contest?
A double-up pays roughly twice the entry fee to every lineup that finishes inside the paid places, which is typically a bit under half of the entries. It rewards a steady lineup that clears the cash line, not a lineup built to win a top prize.
What is the difference between Showdown cash games and tournaments?
Cash games, such as double-ups, pay about half the field a flat amount, so you want a lineup that clears the cash line. Tournaments pay mostly to the top few lineups, so you want a lineup with a high ceiling that also differs from the crowd in the right places. We cover both, and our post-mortems say which one each slate favored.
Where do I find this week’s NFL Showdown picks and Captain plays?
The NFL this-week page lists each Showdown game and each Classic slate, with the release time. NFL and Everything subscribers get those lineups filled into the DraftKings entries file they upload, best first. We do not publish a separate lineup file.
DraftKings golf
How does DraftKings golf DFS work?
You choose six golfers under a $50,000 salary cap, and they earn DraftKings scoring points for how they play and finish the tournament. Course fit, recent form, and the format of the event all matter when you choose.
How does a no-cut event change golf lineups?
In a no-cut event every golfer plays all four rounds, so the risk of a missed cut disappears and ceiling matters more than safety. It also tends to push the crowd toward the same popular names, which is why we look at where the field overlaps. See the Baycurrent Classic preview for the example we published this week.
Where can I find DFS golf lineup research for this week’s event?
The golf this-week page shows the tournament and the release time. It does not list the golfers. Golf and Everything subscribers get the six-golfer lineups filled into the entries file they upload, best first.
About DraftEdge.io
What is DraftEdge.io?
DraftEdge.io is DraftKings research for NFL Showdown, NFL Classic, and golf. We publish verified results and the method behind the builds. The builds themselves are for subscribers. You must be 21 or older to play paid DraftKings contests.
What do I get with a DraftEdge.io subscription?
You get the picks and the lineups filled into the entries file you upload, plus the reasoning behind them, injury and inactive re-checks before lock, and lineup-level post-mortems after the slate. Subscribe from the pricing page. Checkout does not require an account. NFL and Golf are each $25 a week, $80 a month, or $750 a year. Everything covers both sports for $37.50 a week, $120 a month, or $1,125 a year.
What is free on DraftEdge.io?
The slate and matchup overview, the opening and headline finding of every research note, one chart per note, and our public results record are free. Picks, lineups and the deeper findings are for subscribers.
What is a slate confidence score?
Each slate gets a score from 0 to 100, labeled High, Medium, or Low. The score combines data completeness, source agreement, matchup edge, field leverage, volatility, and our track record on similar slates. The score and the label are public on the this-week pages. The reasons are for subscribers. A confidence score is not a lineup.
Are DraftEdge.io’s results public?
Yes. We publish our DraftKings-verified NFL results, including the slates that went badly, and explain how we count them on the NFL results page. The record covers a few weeks of play so far, so it is a track record in progress and not proof of a long-run edge.
Is DraftEdge.io affiliated with DraftKings?
No. DraftEdge.io is independent daily fantasy research for NFL and golf contests on DraftKings. Nothing we publish guarantees results, and daily fantasy involves risk of loss, so play only what you can afford to lose.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel from your account page at any time, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.
