Thursday Night Football Showdown recap: cash rate and the game-script lesson
On the October 1, 2026 Steelers at Browns Showdown, both builds cashed and tied for first. The public note is the cash rate and the lesson. No entry totals.
Thursday, October 1, Pittsburgh played at Cleveland. On a one-game Showdown, the lineup is the game script you are willing to ride.
What cashed
Both lineups we submitted cashed. Each one tied for first, at the same score. That is a 2-for-2 cash rate on the builds we entered that night. Cashing was strong across the slate, not a one-off ticket.
We are not publishing dollar results, entry fees, or contest handles with this recap. The public record is the cash rate and the lesson.
What we were looking for
A Showdown roster lives with one game. We were looking for a single team’s scoring script: the version of the night more than one set of projections could support, and the spots where ownership was about to cluster. Get that script right and the lineup has a job. Split the game across both sidelines and you are mostly hoping both teams cooperate.
That is what produced the two first-place ties.
One slate is a small sample. Sunday is its own game.
