NFL post-mortems

NFL Showdown and Classic post-mortems: the slate summary and headline findings are free. Lineups and our results are for subscribers.

A DraftEdge.io post-mortem is the note we publish after an NFL slate locks and scores: Showdown first, Classic when we played it. It is not a projection dump. It is a recap of the cash line, the lineup that actually cashed, and whether our process matched that result.

The free half is the slate summary and the headline findings, plus one chart when we have one. Below the paywall we show what the winning and cash-line lineups looked like, what we got right and wrong, and any rule we are changing before the next week. Those sections are subscriber-only. They are not in the public HTML, the RSS item, or the share card.

Slugs look like nfl-showdown-post-mortem-phi-chi-2026-09-28: format, teams, and the game date. Monday Night Football Showdown recaps use the same pattern and also appear on the Monday Night Football page.

Questions

What is in a DraftEdge.io NFL post-mortem?

The public part is the slate summary and the headline findings. Subscribers also get the winning and cash-line lineups, what we got right and wrong, and any process rule that changes for the next slate.

When do Showdown post-mortems go up?

After the game is final and we have the standings we trust. A note can be scheduled ahead of that time. It stays off the site, the sitemap, and the feed until the publish time.
